The Backyard Wedding

Rooted in Family History

There is something special about intimate weddings in the Okanagan, especially when they take place in a meaningful family space. Matt and Paige chose to celebrate their day in the backyard of the home Matt grew up in, creating a setting filled with history, connection, and the peace that comes from hosting a wedding on familiar ground.

A Celebration That Brought Generations Together

One of the most beautiful parts of this day was the way multiple generations came together so naturally. Kids played freely between the trees, parents mingled with longtime family friends, and grandparents were present for each moment with quiet joy. The entire wedding felt intentional and connected a reminder of what makes small weddings so meaningful.

Photographing an Intimate Okanagan Wedding

Being invited to document a wedding this personal is something I never take for granted. When a couple chooses a small celebration, every relationship becomes central to the story. Capturing Matt and Paige’s backyard wedding meant preserving the feeling of togetherness, the laughter that carried across the lawn, and the deep family ties woven throughout the day.

Matt and Paige’s celebration was heartfelt, joyful, and full of the kind of honest moments that make intimate Okanagan weddings unforgettable. I’m grateful to have been trusted with telling their story.
